Job Description
- Responsible to coordinate and consolidate the operational expenses & capital expenses budget from all business groups across the bank as per the deadlines.
- Responsible to ensure that the capex & opex budget inputs are fully captured and nothing is missed out.
- Responsible to assist department manager in the presentations to the board and senior management for expense/capital budget presentation but not limited to analysis for the cost drivers.
- Support the business lines and support the divisions in the preparation of their annual budgets.
- Responsible for preparing the capital budget tracking (change investments) and reporting on periodic basis and ad-hoc reports requested by the management.
- Responsible for preparing the depreciation budget of the entire bank in coordination with the Fixed assets team.
- Responsible for preparing the budget versus the operational expense reports on periodic basis and ad-hoc reports requested by the management.
- Responsible for developing, implementing, directing and overseeing the auditing and compliance program specifically for Enterprise Performance Management expense team and issuing timely reports to the management on observations and recommendations.
- Assist department manager in preparation of reports, reconciliation summaries develop a Risk Control Matrix (RCM) and Self- Assessment tools along with periodical review plan to assess.
- To ensure proper accounting and control of operational expenses, accruals and utilization of provisions/reserves.
- To ensure proper accounting in case of operational expenses and coordinate for re-classification of expenses in coordination with financial accounting team.
- Ensure that all GEMRE system (expense monitoring tool) balances tally with GL balances (EBS) on daily basis and reconcile GEMRE system with EBS (GL balances).
- Assist department manager in the analysis of accounting process including but not limited to accrual accounting, provisioning, amortization, prepaid accounting etc.
- Assist department manager in ensuring that all cases of accounting have been properly identified and accounted for and there is no understatement or overstatement of expenses.
- Assist department manager in preparation of reports, reconciliation summaries and schedules.
- Enhance, design and produce routine reports/ad-hoc reports as and when required by EPM management.
- Assist department manager to identify various efficiency improvements and automation possibilities and coordinate with ISG to implement the automation changes.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- 4-6 years of practical experience in similar profile in banking sector
- Knowledge and experience of financial accounting
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles e.g. IFRS, IAS, SOCPA)
- Knowledge of various accounting interface
- Knowledge of ERP (Oracle)
- Knowledge of Hyperion (Oracle)
- Knowledge of Procure to Pay (P2P) system
- Practical experience of handling audits
- Understanding of banking environment and banking products
- Experience of leading team
